Greetings from San Bernardino! Good news on the home front. I’m happy to report that Jake and the Idaho squad squeaked out a win over Montana yesterday to make it to the West Regional title game. My brother and I were thrilled to see Jake take a big leadership role yesterday in the fifth inning. Let me recap.

It was the fifth inning, tied 2-2. Idaho had a runner on third and Jake came up to the plate. He was given the sign to lay down a bunt to bring the runner in. Witnessing the bunt laid down to perfection brought me nothing but utter excitement and happiness for Jake as he ran as fast as I’ve ever seen him run to first base. Even though he was called out, the damage had been done and the runner safely got home. Way to go Jake!

On top of that, starting pitcher Jake Pfennings threw a beauty, despite giving up two runs in the first. His father, the coach was just as proud of his Jake as we were of ours.

Stay tuned for more updates on this as they roll in!

On to the next.
